She thought her life was normal, until it was turned upside down the night she was attacked by her first vampire, and her fears confirmed when a mysterious man, her watcher, announced that she was chosen as a vampire slayer to fight against these creatures. She didn't want this life, she wanted to go back to being normal. She begun to learn that she had no choice in this and that if she didn't accept this, people around her would be killed, especially knowing that powerful forces were rising in Midnight Harbour. She was soon moved to Midnight Harbour after having troubles at school due to this new destiny getting in the way, with her mum hoping for a fresh start, however she has just ended up deeper into the supernatural mess.

He has moved from Britain to Midnight Harbour as he was called to be the Watcher of the newly called slayer after her previous watcher was killed. He decided it would raise less suspicion by applying for the advertised high school librarian position, with his extensive knowledge of books giving him quite the advantage. This way, he would be able to look after his slayer. He isn't like most watcher's, in that they don't care as much about the slayer's welfare.

Chace is an outgoing, fun and adventurous teenager who always needs to excel at everything otherwise he feels pathetic. He hasn't let this new life come in the way of his old. He is on the track and football team and one of the popular kids at school, with there being a lot that people don't know about him. Unfortunately for him however, there is more than just werewolves that he needs to worry about.
