DO I NEED PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF TEEN WOLF/BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER TO ROLEPLAY HERE?

The exciting thing about this role-play is that although some of us may have knowledge of one or both of these canons, it is not required to join here at Insatiable! All of our characters are original and although some plots and characters may be inspired by one or both of the canons, you do not need to sit there and watch marathons of these shows to know what is going on (though myself and Kelly would definitely recommend you do for your own enjoyment!).

We have a Species Description which outlines all of the characteristics of each species you may not be too familiar with and always update you with different plots regularly. There is no information you won't be closed out of by not having knowledge of these two shows.


IS THERE A WORDCOUNT ON THIS SITE?

There is a formal word count of 300 words to allow each role player sufficient information to reply to posts with. There is nothing worse than replying to a short post which gives you basically nothing to reply to and you sit there for an hour trying to make something up, which makes their reply bad and then you struggle and it goes on and on like that. Look at the above question and realize that what I wrote there is over half of what you need to reply to a thread. Not too bad now is it? We made the application short for a reason, to allow you to flesh out your posts with your character.

DO I NEED TO SELECT A CANON CHARACTER?

I do recommend that you select a canon character as your primary character before making any originals as we have carefully selected the characters to fit in well with this site and characters. That isn't to say an original won't be able to fit in just as well or even better, but we do look at these canons as vital to the storyline or a character in some way so it does make things flow easier. However if none of the canons do appeal, you are allowed to make an original.


ARE THE VAMPIRES HERE LIKE THE VAMPIRE DIARES?

The vampires here are based off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and therefore do not have super speed to that extent, can be telepathic or mind control humans. They cannot walk in the sun, a stake through their heart kills them, etc etc. See Species Description for further into.

WILL I FEEL LEFT OUT OF THIS SITE?

We have friendly staff members and will always try and get everyone involved. We know first-hand how frustrating it can be to join a site and leave after three days because either the app takes forever to be accepted or no one replies to your plotter or your threads. Its even worse when the administrator makes no effort to get you on your way. Even with the canon characters, you don't need to feel like your character is not important. We always like to think of it as your character is how much effort you put in; if you put effort into your character and flesh them out around the roleplay, your character becomes more known and important and can be seen as someone and not just a character hanging in there and wondering why they aren't one of the big kids.

I have an issue in the chatbox with a fellow member, what do I do?

Please do not put gasoline on the fire and provoke the issue/member further. Go straight to an administrator and explain the problem and we will do our best to help you out and overcome the issue before it becomes serious. It may be a case of you taking something the wrong way, allowing us to explain to said member the problem which they might not have intended in the way it came over. Same as forum issues, please see a staff member before taking action yourself. There's a reason we are getting paid the top dollars (if only).

CAN I BECOME A STAFF MEMBER?

First rule of everything is, don't ask. Asking makes you seem naggy and annoying and makes us find flaws in you even if there aren't any. If we feel we need more staff members, we will look at all of the members on the site and see who is the best suited, otherwise make an advertisement on the site for one. The best way of becoming a staff member if you wish is to show us you can be active by posting regularly, winning awards like member of the month, being active in the OOC threads or even by doing things for the site (bringing over a member, posting advert somewhere), etc.
